Jelena has a wide range of experience in advising local and international clients on domestic and cross-border M&A and private equity transactions, including general corporate advisory across various industries. She regularly covers lead management and advice to clients in respect to negotiation and drafting of pre-acquisition and acquisition legal documents and ancillary corporate and commercial documents. She also provides transactional and legal advice for construction projects and general trade and commerce matters.
Jelena has significant depth of experience in advising clients from Technology, Media and Telecoms on transactional, regulatory, commercial matters, as advisor of startups, VC funds and major operators and also served as a member of statutory board of directors of a telecommunications company for several years.
One of spheres of Jelena’s practice is employment, in particular pertaining to sports law, involving both domestic and international dimensions of employment and other types of engagement between clubs and athletes and coaches from different fields of sport including settlement agreements.
Jelena handles litigation matters before ordinary courts and arbitral tribunals, including negotiations of out-of-court settlements and enforcements with a particular focus on construction, employment, sports and TMT. In the arbitration practice she represented clients, both as claimants and respondents before institutional and ad hoc arbitrations involving international dimension projects including investor-state disputes, acting as a counsel in ICC, UNCITRAL, ICSID and CAS arbitration matters as well as before FIFA.
Jelena obtained her Bachelor of Laws (LL.B.) degree at the University of Belgrade, Faculty of Law. As part of her professional development she also worked as an intern in a reputable London-based law firm.
