Filip developed his legal skills and pragmatic approach in various M&A and due diligence projects and transactions in a wide range of industries including private equity, TMT, energy, IT, retail and healthcare. His track record includes drafting various types of commercial contracts and advising local and international clients on compliance and regulatory aspects of their business operations.

Filip focuses his practice in international and multi-jurisdictional arbitration and litigation, representing both domestic and foreign entities. He has significant international arbitration experience and took part in a number of commercial and investor-state arbitrations (ICC, LCIA, SCAI, ICSID and UNCITRAL Rules) as legal counsel but also served as secretary to ad hoc arbitration tribunals.

Filip also represents clients in maritime, shipping, transport and insurance matters and has broad experience in obtaining and opposing injunctive relief, particularly in ship arrest matters. His legal expertise includes time charters, bare-boat charters, lease and/or sale of vessels, damage to vessels and cargo, collision of vessels and personal injuries of crew members.

Filip plays a leading role in firm’s information technologies sector and transactions. He advised internet incubator and VC fund on investment rounds and acquisition of tech startups, but is also a safe pair of hands for tech startups and joint ventures, providing legal support from their incorporation through development and expansion phase until execution of a successful exit strategy.

Valuable addition to Filip’s professional experience was his one-year traineeship at the Commercial Court in Belgrade where he assisted judges in drafting decisions and preparation for hearings, as well as his internship at Bryan Cave Leighton Paisner (Hamburg office) an international US based law firm. Besides his bachelor of law degree from the University of Belgrade, Faculty of Law, Filip holds a joint Master of Law and Business degree from Bucerius Law School (Hamburg, Germany) & WHU Otto Beisheim School of Management (Vallendar, Germany). During his career he also completed several specialization legal courses in EU, US and comparative law at University of Amsterdam Faculty of law and University of Belgrade Faculty of law.
